Good Morning and Happy New Year!
To start the new year, I would like to offer a series of scriptures to meditate on or pray through. If you have a meditation or prayer scripture that you would like to share, I would love for you to put it in the comments section at the bottom of the page!
The first scripture in this series of scriptures is from Hosea. God looks to a future time when there will be no more idolatry; all will live in righteousness and peace with the Lord as their loving provider. This scripture reminds me that God is the initiator and sustainer of our relationship.
Next, Jesus reminds me of the high calling he has for us all, the call to perfect love. Yet I know as God looks at my heart I will continually miss the mark. I need his forgiveness and his constant help. I remember that he is always here with me as I realize how much I need him.
Finally, I praise my omniscient, inscrutable, holy God who acts in all ways for his glory!

“I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’...‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you... Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are his judgments and how unfathomable his ways!
For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?
Or who has first given to God, that God needs to repay him?
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be glory forever! Amen.

These are great scriptures to start the year off with and the day off with. I think I will copy them so I can memorize them. Thank you Sandy for sharing this with us.
